While the simplicity and movement of Alexander Calder’s mobiles fascinates me, I am not drawn to his almost exclusive use of prime colours. On the other hand, Mark Rothko’s painting is how I see colour in two dimensions. But what would it look like in three physical dimensions, and then if movement, and hence time is added as a further dimension? And what if light could penetrate right through the material and out the other side?
